Trips to the Cotswold

1. Borton-on-the-Water

(35 min drive from Manor by the Lake)

Borton-on-the-Water is a popular destination with a gently flowing river running through the centre of the village and crossed by attractive little bridges. The village has plenty of charm at any time of the year.
The park and gardens are home to a wide variety of exotic birds including penguins and The Cotsworld Motoring Museum has seven unique galleries including the children's tv favourite little car ' Brum'.

2. Bibury

(40 min drive from Manor by the Lake)

Bibury is a charming, typically Cotswold village. William Morris once called it 'The most beautiful village in England' with wonderful stone buildings along the banks of the River Coln. Arlington Row is one of England's most iconic and photographed sites and the cottages are now lived in my National Trust tenants.

3. Winchcombe

(26 min drive from Manor by the Lake)

Winchcombe has a wonderful timeless quality about it, with Cotswold stone cottages standing side by side with distinctive black and white half timbered buildings.

Loose yourself in the narrow alleyways or dine in the historic pubs. The town's 'Walkers are Welcome' status makes it a great place for those who love the outdoors. Explore the countryside surrounding Winchcombe by following a Gateway Towns walking route.
